Just Giving target

I've raised my Just Giving target to £1500 as it seems people are less likely to donate when it says "100%" target achieved. Please help me raise another £200 for the British Red Cross.
5 kayaking colleagues who weren't able to complete the challenge on 2 September, were able to do it in spectacular time on 2 October. Fantastic!
I've hung up my paddle for the time being, but you can still donate to a great cause, in return for using the free website resources.
Donate or find out more at Just Giving
Thank you, Carol

Composer wins worldwide competition!

Josh, the composer of the music used in all our mp3 files, is one of the 8 winners of the Abbey Road Studios 80th Anniversary Anthem Competition! He composed the choral piece "Thank You Eternally" using his composing pseudonym. He's heading off to Abbey Road Studios next week to record his piece with the London Symphony Orchestra and Eric Whitacre. Fantastic news, and well deserved! (that's my boy!) More details on this website or the Abbey Road Studios website

Josh is standing at the back, at the right hand side of the door.

Email problems

My normal getselfhelp.co.uk email address has been offline for 24 hours, so I'm unable to access any emails from that account. The contact forms on the website are sent to that address too. I'll see if I can change them, but in the meantime, if you need to contact me, then use email address carol (at) get.gg

Edited 9pm:
It seems any emails sent after 12 noon yesterday 24 August have been lost, and any new emails may or may not get through. If you emailed me between then and 9pm tonight (25 August), then please email me again to carol (at) get.gg or use the contact form which I've updated to come to the revised email address. Please send any new emails to carol (at) get.gg

Edited 9pm 26.8.11
After a lot of time and effort (by me and the great support team at Hostgator)...
All emails are now getting through, I even seem to get two copies of each message now!! :-)

A teacher contacted me yesterday about using the website resources for school assemblies. I wondered whether to create a school information pack. Let me know if you have any suggestions...

My Funeral Wishes

Michelle (Ayres) and I were talking about close relatives having died and them not having told anyone about their funeral wishes. So this worksheet was born!

Not necessarily for therapy, but perhaps for personal or family use. It's going to help me to bring it up with other family members!

Eating disorder psychoeducation

Does anyone have any psychoeducational materials that they use with clients with eating disorders? Calories burned during various activities, calories needed to gain weight etc etc
I know it's all out there on the internet, but I've not found everything I'm looking for in one place, nor specifically for eating disorders.

Contact me or comment here, maybe with a website address

RIP Anthony K Coughlan CPsychol AFBPsS

Sadly, Anthony Coughlan died in Guernsey in the early hours of this morning at the age of 65. He worked as a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist at St James Hospital in Leeds for many years, and only recently retired and moved back to Guernsey following his wife Christine's sudden death.
Whilst he will be missed by health professionals and clients for his quiet, kind, gentle, yet confident and knowledgeable manner, he will be very much missed by his family here in Guernsey, particularly by his 91 year old mother.

I'm still hoping to kayak around Guernsey this summer - we're now aiming for 2 September. Please give generously to the Red Cross who are often the first and only aid charity allowed in to disaster zones, such as the current famine in Somalia.
